As the school year begins, many young people will be settling into classrooms filled with hopes, plans, and curiosities for the months that lay ahead. But for a staggering number of children in CNY, going back to school isn’t as simple as buying supplies or finding a locker. For some, barriers like unstable homes, broken family relationships, and involvement with the justice system make returning to education a daunting challenge. At the Rescue Mission, we’re committed to changing that narrative by helping youth overcome obstacles and find a path to success.
